Jen Shoemaker Davidson is a writer, parenting advocate, and mom who’s always believed that some of the best parenting happens in everyday conversations.
Jen isn’t a clinician or formally trained professional. She’s a mom who has lived through the ups and downs of parenting and wants to share what she's learned along the way.
About the Author
Her daughter, Emma, graduated from UC Berkeley, where she swam for four years, and used her bonus COVID year to swim for UT Austin, where she is now pursuing her master’s in nursing. Her son, Luke, rowed for Santa Clara University and recently began his career as an environmental compliance specialist. She is also a proud and loving stepmom to Lauren, who she has known since she was three.
Jen’s professional journey has included stints working in hospital administration, as a massage therapist at the 1996 Olympics, and leadership roles in spa operations and finance. She volunteers weekly at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, cuddling NICU babies and spending time with children undergoing chemotherapy.
Jen and her husband live in Southern California. Keep Talking is her first book.
Why Keep Talking?
Jen says: My goal for writing this book was to share my “lessons” that I have used successfully to launch my kids into adulthood. Over the years I have been asked countless times what my methods are and though it seems second nature to me, I realized it wasn’t for many.
I want to help as many parents as I can connect and most importantly, stay connected to their kids even when it gets awkward, or kids pushback and we feel irrelevant and want to throw in the towel.
